Iggly Squiggly Wiggly quick! Gather up your toys. We have visitors arriving soon; Aunt Piggly & her boys. Mama Wiggly spun around the kitchen in a whirl. Her tongue hung out and flapped so much, it rolled up in a curl. Hurry Iggly Squiggly we must tidy up the house, leaving no remains of attendance here of Teddy or of Mouse.

A knock at the door sent Mama Wiggly jumping in the air. In all of her excitement, she nearly lost her hair. Reaching for the door knob, Iggly Squiggly stood close by. He’d never met his cousins, so anticipation high. Pulling the door open they saw an unexpected sight. Four smiles stretched from ear to ear, and spanned from left to right.

Stepping into the house the Piggly’s entered as a bunch. They smiled again when they saw the tray of homemade apple-crunch. Mama Wiggly poured the milk. They all sat round the table. Six big eyes on Iggly Squiggly made him a little unstable.

The boys still smiled from ear to ear. They didn’t say a word. So different from Little Poe, Iggly thought, behaviour quite absurd. The boys stood up still huddled close, so tight did they all tether. Iggly Squiggly noticed the sweater they wore was knitted in one piece together.

Mama Wiggly raised her eyebrows at Aunt Piggly in surprise. Aunt Piggly boasted right out loud, I made it just to size. This wide striped sweater keeps my boys together just like one. It’s proving to be a wonderful way of increasing their level of fun.

Six little arms moved up and down inside the striped knit tent. Little fingers prodded in and out, and little elbows bent. They giggled as each touch created its own new sensation. The fact that they were out visiting didn’t come into the equation.

Mama Wiggly laughed! she imagined the sweater slightly smaller. Two necks she thought would be just right, if Little Poe was taller. A taxi tooted from outside, the Piggly’s smiles had dropped. They looked so sad as they said goodbye, and out the door they hopped.

A knock at the door came seconds later, Iggly Squiggly peered outside. A box of chocolates was on the step, a ribbon folded wide. A swing tag on the top addressed in blue to Iggly Squiggly. Thanks so much the wording said for letting us be so giggly.

Mama Wiggly grabbed Iggly Squiggly and squeezed him in a cuddle. I’m proud of you she said, putting up with your cousins in a huddle. Now grab your toys and let’s spread them all over the house. Race you, she teased Iggly Squiggly, I’ll be the first to get to mouse.

They tripped each other on the stairs and made each other giggle. They danced about and made-up words to a famous Wiggly jiggle.

Mama Wiggly carried one very tired chocolate filled tummy up to bed at 6:10pm.
